I have several green business ideas and I would like to start a couple of them, how can I locate and qualify for federal grants?
By "green" I mean environmentally friendly, and sustainable business. Such as historical home preservation.

The business case is that someone has 100 acres of mountain land in the Blue Ridge mountains in MD and VA and is looking for a green business to put in it, even if only for a few years.
Is creating a wind farm or solar energy possible?
Could a farmer farm the land using eco-friendly means and make more profit than the holding cost of the land?
How about something other than energy creation?

Please be versed in such matters before answering and include a link or two with your suggestions.

I am planning on starting a Green Internet business when i get done with College and i need help picking a site name….It needs to be something that i can use for other stuff rather then a internet business like a store and what not. Something with a mascot would be cool to
Sorry i thought i put more information on there. i am going to be selling various green products to homes and businesses that help make there home/office more “green” and im planning on opening a small shop that people can get green products that they cant get at a everyday store.

am currently in college getting a degree in management because I had no idea what I wanted to do. Now, I want to help contribute, but I also want to achieve and use my management degree. I want to start a small business that will help change the world, even a tiny bit, but I am not quite sure how to achieve that. (Sole proprietorship, LLC, corporation, . . .)

Maybe you can offer shares, or options to people who can come up with good ideas.

I would answer it in changing the way of currently open business in your locality… for example, you can suggest (in your project) “Proposal to use paper bags instead of plastic bags in local supermarket”. Etc.,
