  If you are speaking of creating new music, a change of environment will tend to give you new perspectives on life which will stoke your creative fire.

  We need to experience life in order to recreate the beauty we sense in our environment. And, diversity, newness and uniqueness contribute greatly to this process.

   We write best what we know best.

   Still, it is all too easy to get so lost in what is most familiar that I can’t see what is right in front of me. A little space -be it physical, intellectual, social or emotional- lets me see the bigger picture and appreciate the every day details at home while I am broadening my definition of “what I know best” for future inspiration.
