I have thought about doing environmental internships, either paying or non-paying for experience.

And trying to be know and be more up to date about environmental issues and concerns roday.

I also want to be an environmental specialist and I’m majoring in environmental management.

Would you know anything else or what you did, if you have experience in this field?

The “environmental field” is such a general topic as are “environmental specialist” and “environmental management”. Are you interested in any particular aspect of the environment such as waste, water or air? Conservation or protection? Educational Awareness? Eco-project development?

You can get experience by volunteering. There are many different ways to find a good fit for you to volunteer your time, give and learn about the environment. The Peace Corps has an excellent volunteer program if you are willing to commit 27 months (and are American) or you could find a specific project such as the eco-village in Peru (http://ecoaldeasircadia-en.blogspot.com/).

I’m in 11th grade and I need some science project ideas. While I can choose anything that is related to science, I’m hoping to do something that benefits the environment. However, I’m not interested in doing research (for example, working with plants). I really want to build something like a solar panel or something similar. As a student, my budget is limited and I need something that is relatively cheap. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

I’m writing a paper for school, and now that I’m almost done, I can’t think of what a desert tortoise contributes to the environment. They really don’t do anything. Not that I can think of. Anyone have any ideas what they might do for the environment, or people?

What are some ideas, or maybe a list of idea’s on how to protect the environment without spending a dime. Nothing Like stop driving a car and walk…. Something that doesn’t end up risking something for another. Clearly even after being told not to use air conditioner we still do.. We simply won’t bother. So I would like some creative idea’s on how to protect the environment with out giving anything up and with out spending a dime… Thanks..

when you take a shower to conserve water you can put a small bucket in there to fill up with water to use for the plants and as you get used to it you can replace it with one larger
or

you could also leave buckets out when its raining to use for the plants anything like that really
that’s what my grandma does and it helps her

What are some ideas on protecting the environment without spending a dime?

I have to answer this question for school “what you think YOUR neighborhood could do involving plants and trees and landscapes to better or enrich your community.”

Well I had the ideas of carpooling so that we will pollute less gas into the air. And to plant more trees, but I don’t know an explanation WHY planting trees would be helpful to our environment. 10 points for good answer!

Trees give off oxygen which combats CO2 in our environment, which contributes to depleting the ozone layer. Oxygen fights this and makes our air more breathable and healthy.

Green Living and the Fashion Industry

Reduce, reuse and recycle are familiar terms to most people especially those that follow the trend of fashion are now becoming environmentally friendly green living fashion conscious people. Green is not a fashion but has become an essential part of everyone’s lives.  With all the non biodegradable waste products and harmful chemicals emitted into the atmosphere becoming eco conscious and wearing eco friendly clothing helps.

Becoming aware and practicing being green and eco friendly has taken the globe by storm and learning how to become an environmentally friendly fashion conscious person does not mean you are a geek it just means you are waking up to the fact that this is necessary and that you are helping to heal the planet from further damage.

When going out on a shopping spree for clothing be aware of what you purchase no matter if it is socks, underwear or any other item of clothing make sure the item is environmentally friendly and not hazardous. This may be a new concept to some people but the more you become aware of your environment the more you will start to think green living which includes your clothing.

Instead of going to buy new clothes you can purchase really good quality fashion clothing from a second hand shop or buy from a shop that stocks unique vintage clothing as the quality is high and you will have your own personalized look and be a step ahead of the run of the mill fashion and in addition you will also save money.

Online you can find many clothing sites that only specialize in recycled clothing and clothing that is made from bamboo, hemp and pure cotton which are all eco friendly. Let your friends know and lead the way on how to become an environmentally friendly fashion idol.  Do some research and find out what is environmentally friendly and what is harmful when it comes to materials used for clothing. What are the damaging effects of the clothing you purchase?

You can save the environment and loads of money especially now with the recession at hand by revamping your clothing you already have. Be creative and change items of clothing by cutting off sleeves making shorts from long jeans and so on. This is how to be an eco green living fashion idol and at the same time your old clothes are not landing up in a landfill which means you are not hurting the earth.

When you go out shopping always take your own reusable shopping bags with as this saves on resources especially plastic bags which are not bio-degradable and if burnt gives off harmful chemicals. Just these few simple things are showing you that you can become and environmental friendly green living fashion idol.  Any clothing that you no longer want to wear and you want to throw out recycle them by passing then on to a needy person or charity. Old clothes can be turned into new and fashionable pieces.
