When will advertisers consider turning green for the sake of the environment?
Filed under More Green IdeasAug 10I do believe that the average citizen does not create a lot of trash per se. But those direct mailings really fill my recycle bin till no end. Shouldn’t they be accountable for all this paper trash?
Best reply by Lily:
HI Daisymae, I couldn’t agree more.
Recycling is one of my pet traits. I too have my bin filled to the brim with their wanton need to advertise.
I groan every time I get them as I feel for the poor trees that have ultimately come to this sad end.Read more replies

Why has organized crime created an international environment since the end of the cold war?
Filed under More Green IdeasJul 4Why has organized crime created an international environment since the end of the cold war that encourages people to work outside of society’s structures and possibly threaten national securities around the world?…………. I need help im doing a research paper on organized crime for my high school class.
Best reply by NYAD:
When the people of a country are tightly controlled and are at the economic and political mercy of their government, some people learn to use any means to get what they need and what they want. Some of these will do things the average person will not. Since there is strength in numbers, some organize into groups. When the tight control is lifted, such as the soviet held countries, some African countries, etc., these groups have fewer restrictions to operate and tend to become stronger and more aggressive. They spread their operations to places that have an unusual amount of freedom and places where many people are defenseless and vulnerable. That is how the problem becomes international.

I am writting a research paper for english class and I haven’t been able to find very much on what the environment is as a teacher. Yes, I already have your own classroom. But if any of you are teachers and have something else I could add, I would greatly appreciate it!!!!
I am doing a research project for english class at school. I dont really know what the environment of an elementary school teacher. So any of you teachers out there, help!!!!Best reply by Rita:
I’m not exactly sure which type of Teacher you’re talking about because there lots of different kinds, but I’ll give you some general information about them I found online..
“Depending on the subject they teach, high school teachers may work in classrooms, science labs, computer labs, or machine shops. Typically, they deal with 20 to 35 students at a time. In addition to teaching, they have to maintain order in the classroom and discipline disruptive students. Teachers usually spend many evening and weekend hours preparing lessons and grading assignments; on average, they work about 50 hours a week. Most teachers work a 9 or 10-month school year, with 2 or 3 months off during the summer.
Teachers tend to have a very high level of job satisfaction. Helping young people learn and grow can be very rewarding.”Read the original question on Yahoo! site

I planned on starting to recycle every day items (cans, paper, bottles, etc) around my house instead of being wasteful and throwing them away. This was just so I could feel like I was helping the environment out a little bit. However, I wanted to know just how useful one person’s monthly recyclables are to helping the environment. Like 2 full garbage bags worth per month.
Best reply by JWrightus:
The obvious answer is…it depends. It depends how much of what item you’re recycling.
Recycling plastic is arguably the most important recycling you can do in terms of environmental impact because plastics are not biodegradable. They never decompose. Furthermore, plastics are petroleum-based–they come from the same raw materials we use for fuel.
Recycling plastic has at least three benefits: It keeps non-biodegradable materials out of landfills and waterways, it provides already-existing materials for packaging, and it reduces the amount of raw materials extracted from the ground.
Having said that, EVERYTHING you recycle has a large positive impact on the environment. Even just a month’s worth!

Hi, I am in a College Environment Group and they are looking for ideas to help improve the environment at college. We are trying to make the college more eco-friendly.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas that could maybe help improve the environment at college. Why did you suggest these ideas? Also, what impact would it have on the environment and college?
We already have things like recycle bins, recyclable paper plates etc. We mainly have recyclable things in our college and there is nothing much apart from that.
Thanks for your help!
Best reply by anna:
besides having alot of garbage bags for rubbish, have posters all over the college making ppl aware of the environment, hold seminar and lectures. you can also invite companies and business to hold lectures, have as competitions and prize giving. get volunteers to do a cleanup every two weeks or once a month. create a website. plant flowers and trees

Thanks for all the help!
