I want to organize just a little clam protestation about are climate crisis. I am looking for original ideas that will get peoples attention and that will demonstrate an important message about are climate change/pollution etc…. please help, thanks

I know nothing.Anyone with experience please tell me some steps that would create an inter-state, inter- provincial regional environmental group or agency.(hopefully with govenmental support or patronage)

First you need to have a few more like minded people who are interested.

Next look out for diffrent environmental related problems in the area and their possible solutions.

Your group of associates can work on these problems and try to create public awareness if required.

Once people see you are doing some good, positive work and giving good results soon more people will join and you will have a good organisation soon.

Keep one thing in mind – you should name your organisation keeping in mind the area of work you chose like we have named our organisation Narmada Ecology and Welfare Society (NEWS) keeping in mind our area of activities which include developmental work for forest dwellers and other conservation activities especially saving our forests and Tiger and since our region of work is around Narmada river in central India we have chosen her name.

Question by Cade: alternative energy. I want to be informed, where do I start?


I want to be a supporter for the alternative energy movement but not sure where to start. There are a few sites I came across myself but instead they use the subject to promote political means. Is there a site or book or something that can give me the facts as a beginner?

What are some good podcasts, YouTube channels, twitter/Facebook pages and other medusa? I want to be as immersed and informed as possible. Local resources where I live are a joke, which is why I ask for those above. Thanks

really the best thing you could do is take an environmental science class at a junior college. dont take anything specific, such as strictly renewable energy sources and derivatives.

but my local community college has a green living course which teaches you things about water conservation etc.

what would you like to learn? i took an advanced environmental science class and it was more about things such as how harmful mining is and carbon emissions etc.

one fact i still remember from that class is, if we all started converting to living 100% green it would take 70 years for everyone to be green and for it to take full effect.

but yeah id recommend taking a college course or something of the sort instead of relying on online information as it is backed up with sources. glad to see someone wanting to look into it though.

really the best thing we can do for the environment is educate the people that are unaware of the harm they are doing to the environment, you dont have to become a hippy, but become aware of what you are doing

yes, we should start contemplating on using water or maybe something that we have more of on this earth…like trash. That would be real reusing and recycling.

I am really disappointed – everybody talks about recycling yet here I am with a degree and I can’t get a job. I know as an Eastern EuropeanI can start on a senior level (and man, I am keen on an administrator position just let me start it!), but even for junior positions they expect 2years experience!
I have 1 year experience in waste management (project work, not UK based).

I phoned recycling companies and they wouldn’t recruit without an agency (but wouldn’t tell the name of the agency).
Councils go through the job centre, but I can’t apply for jobs in Ealing if I live in Wandsworth.

Do you know an agency I should contact?

Are you an Environmental Engineer in waste management and have some ideas or tips?

I am not in waste management, nor overseas. But to garner an entry level position in the US is as easy as looking up companies in the yellow pages “Environmental Consultants” or “Engineers Environmental”.

Using career builder.com (I do not think they list the UK), search Enviromental and go from there.

You will need to find the most popular job listing site for the UK and go there.

We all know about global warming, and how it is causing the ice to melt, the earth getting polluted, and all the other things happening to the earth, like rising temperatures and such, but when is it really going to come into effect? When will we experience everything? In 5 or 10 years? In 100 years? In 1000 years? in 10 000 years?
Is there a definite answer? Or will the earth just suddenly ‘die out’ one day?

it depends if we continue to contaminate and all that stuff the ozone layer wiil dissapear.This will cause the poles to melt and the oceans waters will rise.Parts of the world will dissapear and this will cause a lot of destruction.

Remembering that the word hoax implies a deliberate falsehood — Where and when did the “global warming hoax” begin? Did the world’s climatologists, environmental scientists, environmental activists, liberal politicians, and other proponents of the man made global warming argument meet in some backroom somewhere and plan it all out?

Are these same scientists, politicians, and celebraties deliberatly surpressing research that counters man made global warming? Are the dozens of peer reviewed journals that publish global warming research in on this vast conspiracy?

How is the vast conspiracy maintained? Is such a hoax conspiracy likely?

Or is it more likely that dozens or hundreds of scientists with diverse backgrounds, working in various fields, came to similar conclusions?
News reports that man may be making the Earth warmer go back at least to the 1940s…

So if it is a hoax, as some have claimed, it is a far reaching hoax involving figures in
science, the media, and politics on every continent for 160 years. Does that seem plausible?

One of the famous scientific hoaxes in the world, the so-called Piltdown Man, was exposed 40 year after its conception. The Piltdown Man hoax only involved a few people and was undone through advancements in anthropology. Do you honestly believe that global warming is a hoax that has been carried on for 4 times as long as Piltdown Man and would have involved hundreds, perhaps thousands of people?

Its not a hoax, but rather its just that scientist dont have enough information to predict what the global temperature has done and will do. If the earth is millions of years old how has it survived? I say the earth will take care of it self and continue to spin and support life regardless of us. Did you know that water is a more significant green house gas than CO2? There is more evaporated water in the atmosphere than any other gas! Have you ever been in a green house? Whats the first thing you notice? Its humid and sweaty and there is water running down the walls! The atmosphere is kinda like that! If global warming really is happening it is just a temporarry natural cycle of earth. Probly has somthing to do with the earths orbit around the sun and the solar systems orbit in the galaxy. Dont worry be happy enjoy the sun! Go get some nice shades some sun tan lotion and drive a convertible to the beach and get a tan!
