What is the work environment in the Army as a 13F?
Filed under More Green IdeasAug 10How often do you work with other 13F like in a COLT team? How often do you actually call fore fire in a real situation? Do you ever collect intel and do recon? Do you do grunt work? Are you ostracized by the 11Bs?
Best reply by redleg:
As a new 13F, 9 times out of 10 you will be assigned as the RTO (radio operator) to a maneuver (Infantry or Armor) platoon FIST (fire support team). You and a 13F senior SPC or SGT will be responsible for planning and executing the maneuver platoon’s fire plan. You will work directly with the Platoon leader nd Platoon Sergeant (along with your FIST leader and NCO) to accomplish this task. And your Infantry brethren by and large will look at you as another grunt with a special set of skills (and who also knows how to operate a radio and a GPS)
