  • Would pooping in a bag be better for the environment than using the toilet?

OK, I am really into the environment and I am always thinking of ways to clean it up. So how about this little gem of an idea: Stop using the toilet.

The toilet is an environmental disaster: All that water wasted and toilet paper not to mention all the poop and pee. The solution: Pee in the sink or outside, and poop in fast food bags you would just throw away anyway, and then put the bags in the trash.

I know this would work, but do you think the average American could handle it? Do you think we care enough?

No offense but that’s just plain silly
all waste water from your toilet gets treated by your local waste water plant
and if everyone did as you suggested, then things would be no better than it was in the middle ages, lots of disease comes from untreated waste and simply peeing outside is em brassing and indecent not to mention un treated and unprocessed poop can lead someone to be getting sick

  1. Actually, if you want to really help the environment you should poop in a bag and then eat it. Considering what Americans eat anyway, it wouldn’t be a big lifestyle change.

ha first off i thought i was the only person who thought of trying to be eco friendly by finding ways to not use a toilet. well i think peeing into a toilet is a huge waist but i have no rationally thought out plan yet…i was thinking if there was an outhouse sort of thing where u could do ur business in the ground and cow manure is used as fertalizer so i figured our crap could help too. honestly if anyone could comment on this and tell me if there is any rational solution to this i would love it

Yes, but only if we can send you the bags. My link below is a better idea.

  4. No not really, what would you do with all the crap, and 90% of people wouldn’t do it, what would the bags be made from? Plastic would be bad for the enviroment, Do you really want to see “poo mountains”?, it’d smell, poo occurs naturally where animals live (that includes humans), poo brakes down and can be good for the environment so long as it doesn’t get into waterways, poo locks in Carbon Dioxide and other gases.

  5. For C’s sake….this is a typical example of how people can go over the top with concern for the “environment”.
Stop being silly and go to the toilet like everyone else.
    I certainly will!

not to be rude or anything but you and i both know that there is no way this is going to ever work. we americans are NOT willing to sacerfise (sry for the spelling errors) our personal conforts that we take for granted for the enviroment, its plain and simple although i like how you think outside the box but most americans are way too arrogrant to poop in a bag….our dogs do that and idk maybe people would feel like they are being degraded or like they are behaving like animals (although we are in the animal kingdom lol) i could see how pooping in the dirt would be better for the enviroment because of the stubstances that would take the needed nutrients or whatever from our poop and it would decompose into the soil or something which would cause the soil to be more fertile or whatever but us humans in general do not care about the enviroment enough to even consider such an idea sry to ruin your confidence but its the honest truth

yeah thats just what we need eh ? more plastic bags and trash ?

what are you 10 yrs old ?

did your parents drop you on your head when you were a baby ?

  8. good idea this,
Let me know how many bags you got in a month.
Early man used to do it straight on the ground, but lots died from disease,in England they used to chuck it out of the windom in buckets all over people passing by,Apparantly the smell was appalling.
The real answer to your question is,you need to learn more about what happens to your mess once you pull the chain.
As an experiment, dont pull the chain for a month.you will save on water and lots of bags, and preserve the environment for everybody else, except of course,YOUR SELF>
